Engineering in Context: Student Trips

Every Winter Break a group of students involved with the AguaClara Program have the opportunity to take a two week trip to Honduras. During these trips the students get to visit AguaClara Plants, meet the plant operators, and see the work they do in lab being used in the real world for a real cause.

This is a unique aspect of the engineering project team, as well as a vital component of creating a hands-on, real-life learning environment for the students and developing a constant cycle of innovation and information sharing between those that are part of the research at cornell and those who are in the field.

The AguaClara Blog features many stories and photos, along with accounts of how going 'on the ground' helped team members rethink their research and keep the perspective of the plant operators in mind when working on a design.
